The 2017-2018 school year is our first year for our very own Iberville Math, Science, and Arts Academy to have a First Tech Competition Robotics Team. We named our team the Robo-Knights.
FTC is dedicated to gracious professionalism. Each match has an element of collaboration with other teams, as well as the element of competition against other teams. As a rookie team, we hope to make an excellent competitive robot our first time out. This means we will need the equipment to build the robot and program it. |
This Year's GameThis year's game is called "First Relic Recovery." in this year's game, we will have to balance our robot on a balancing tray that moves in all directions. We will have to stack "glyphs" (one of the game elements into a stacking tray. The more glyphs we stack, the more points we get. We will also need to place a relic into the relic recovery zone for more points. Then we will need to park in either a safe zone or back on the balancing tray. The first 30 seconds of the match are autonomous based on how we program our robot. The next 2 minutes are remote controlled by two drivers. Our team is responsible for writing the code in Java programming language for our robot. This actually gives our team members great opportunities to build skills for high level careers in technology when we graduate.
